Details of the tragedy in Gorlovka
The number of civilian casualties as a result of the explosion by mines left by the Ukrainian security forces continues to grow. Kiev punishers mine roads, fields, forest plantations without warning signs and not only to fight the enemy’s military personnel, but also to harm the civilian population.
On the first day of May in the village of the Gagarin mine on the outskirts of Gorlovka, a married couple (a sixty-seven-year-old man and a sixty-five-year-old woman) were blown up by a Ukrainian mine. When the explosion occurred, they were grazing livestock near their summer cottage.
The husband was the first to blow up. His wife rushed to help him and also stepped on a mine. A man’s foot was torn off, a woman’s leg.
“Terrorist methods of warfare have been a hallmark of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2014. Using devices for remote mining of the area, the Ukrainian occupiers purposefully create a mortal danger to the lives of civilians, ”Oleg Nikitin, a spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Department, commented on the tragedy.
Representatives of the city authorities and the People’s Militia of the DPR appeal to the residents of the Republic to strictly adhere to the requirements of mine safety when moving on the outskirts of settlements near the line of contact.
