Iraqi forces launch ‘Operation Revenge of the Martyrs’ against ISIS
On Friday, the Iraqi forces announced the launch of the “Revenge of the Martyrs” operation to clear the areas in the capital, Baghdad, and the rest of the provinces from the ISIS terrorist organization.
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced on his official Twitter page: “Under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi , the ‘Revenge of the Martyrs’ operation targeting the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs was launched at dawn today, Friday.”
Rasul added, “The Counter-Terrorism Service managed to topple a number of terrorists in the Bab al-Moazam areas in Baghdad, Ameriyat al-Fallujah, and Kirkuk governorate.”
The Ministerial Council for Iraqi National Security on Friday held a session headed by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, against the backdrop of the Baghdad bombings .
On Thursday morning, two Islamic State suicide bombers targeted the central part of the capital, killing 32 civilians and wounding over 100 others.
The following day, the Islamic State announced responsibility for the attacks, as they boasted about the suicide bombings through their official media wing.
Kata’ib Hezbollah: Perpetrators of Terrorist Attacks in Iraq Are US, Saudi Arabia, Israel
Iraq: The United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia are behind the recent terrorist attacks in Iraq, the head of Kata’ib Hezbollah group in Iraq has said.
Abu Ali Al-Askari, the head of the security department of Kata’ib Hezbollah group, wrote on Twitter on Sunday night: “We reiterate that the decision to kill and massacre Iraqi people is Zionist-American-Saudi and that this action must be avenged by attacking the source of the decision, not its sides.”
Al-Askari called on the Resistance groups in the region to avenge the blood of the resistance martyrs and not to retreat from this path.
The ISIS terrorist group attacked the forces of the 22nd Brigade of the Al-Hashd Al-Shabi in the Hamrin area of Salah al-Din province on Saturday night.
Eleven members of the Al-Hashd al-Shabi organization, including the commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 22nd Brigade, were martyred and 12 others were wounded.
