Syria: ISIL Receives Largest Cargo of US-Made Weapons while Israel provides air support for ISIS
TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian security sources disclosed that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group is using the state-of-the-art weapons which are only manufactured by the US, adding that the largest such cargo has been dispatched to the terrorists just recently.
“These weapons were given to the ISIL inside Syria and only kilometers away from the Turkish border,” the Arabic-language Al-Waqt news website quoted an informed source as saying on Tuesday.
He noted that the advanced weapons included anti-armor missiles as well as light and semi-heavy weaponry.
The report said the consignment contained the largest cargo of US-made arms aid sent to ISIL so far.
In November 2013, the Syrian army said it had discovered Israeli-made weapons in a hideout of the foreign-backed militants near the capital, Damascus.
According to reports, the army had seized a cache of weapons, including Israeli-made LAV missiles, during an operation near the capital.
Reports said that the army had found the hideout with the help of people and their reports and seized large quantities of homemade bombs, RPG rockets, mortars, roadside bombs, rocket launchers, and maps.
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined that the last Sunday Israeli terrorist attack that killed a number of Hezbollah members and an Iranian military adviser in Syria showed tight cooperation between terrorists and Israel.
“The Israel-terrorists cooperation came into light in the recent terrorist attack on the Golan Heights,” Larijani told reporters on Tuesday.
The Iranian parliament speaker underscored that the cooperation between the terrorists and Israel was already evident, “but the blood of these martyrs shed light on the behind-the-scene cooperation among terrorists, Zionists and US agents”.
Last Sunday, an Israeli helicopter struck Quneitra in Syria’s Golan Heights, killing Iranian military advisor Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi as well as the son of slain Hezbollah top commander Imad Mughniyeh and 4 other Hezbollah members.
In similar remarks last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif strongly condemned the Israeli attack, and said that the raid showed the close cooperation between Israel and the Takfiri terrorists.
“The aggressive act of the Zionist regime in Golan (Heights) is another sign of cooperation between this regime and the Takfiri terrorists,” Zarif said in a meeting with Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in Tehran on Wednesday.
The Iranian foreign minister reiterated that Israel’s terrorist attack was carried out to aid Takfiri terrorists in Syria following their repeated defeats and retreats in the battle against the Damascus army in recent months.
